Company History

Noryards AS was established in 2014 as the result of a strategic merger of a former shipbuilding division in Bergen, Norway. The yard group is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Calexco S.a.r.l., registered in Luxembourg and controlled by the Ukrainian Konstantyn Zhevago. The headquarter of Noryards is located in Bergen, Norway.

Although Noryards in the purely formal is a recent construction, the Norwegian yard have been at the forefront of advanced shipbuilding for a century.

Noryards BMV is located at Laksevåg in Bergen, the capital of western Norway and an important maritime site in Europe ever since it became part of the mighty Hanseatic League in the 13th century. The yard traces its shipbuilding activities back to the 1870s and has always benefitted from its close proximity to important markets within the maritime industries. The last decades, Noryards BMV has been a leading provider of (alternatively: specialized on) offshore ships, seismic vessels, research vessels and other sophisticated vessels for the international oil and gas industry. The yard became part of Bergen Group in 2007 and merged into Noryards in 2014.

At Noryards, we carry forward a proud legacy from two major shipbuilding nations in combination with a strong will to innovate to the benefit of demanding ship-owners around the world.
